The Story

Last Labor Day, Nancy and Allan Flood barely avoided a traffic collision by slamming on their brakes.  Their two small dogs Ariel (Yorkie) and Crickett (Lhasa Apso) slid off the console and hit the dashboard.  They were OK but the incident scared the Floods into inventing a solution – the Doggie Ride Along (TM).

What We Do and Why We Do It

The Flood’s believe that The Doggie Ride Along fills a niche in the small dog traveling market.  It’s made especially for small dog owners that enjoy their pets’ company in the front console area but don’t want to unnecessarily restrict their movement with a harness, closed seat or cage.  

The system is designed for vehicles with a console and headrests.  It’s strapped firmly to the console and buckled to the headrests, providing a front-facing elastic net barrier.  It gives pets freedom to stay close to the driver and passenger or wander the back of the vehicle.

After months of product development and achieving “patent pending” status, the Floods are selling The Doggie Ride Along through their company, Smiling Dog Enterprises, LLC.
